在北美很多紫荆花，这边叫Redbud， 中西部的种是Cercis canadensis， 是豆科（Fabaceae)的。 我在澳大利亚（2009年）看到过一个西方蜜蜂采这个花， 所以在密西根的这个花上面我花不少时间等蜜蜂， 等到每年的花都谢了， 也没有看到蜜蜂， 看到过熊蜂和其他蜂采， 所以花上应该是有蜜的吧。 维基说花管太长，蜜蜂采不到蜜， 但是熊蜂可以。

后来（2012.5）我在南昌看到很多蜜蜂采类似的花， 原来以为是同一个种， 后来发现是不同的。 中国的是中华紫荆， Cercis chinensis，跟北美的一个属。 但是那次好像没有拍到意蜂采中华紫荆。

亚洲和欧洲有8个种， 多数在中国：

• Cercis siliquastrum L.—Judas tree or European redbud (Mediterranean region)

美洲有4个种

• Cercis canadensis L. – eastern redbud (eastern North America)
• Cercis mexicana Rose – Mexican redbud (northeast Mexico and Texas(Trans-Pecos) )
• Cercis reniformis Engl. – Oklahoma redbud (Oklahoma and Texas (East of the Pecos River) )
• Cercis occidentalis Torr. ex A. Gray – western redbud (Western United States)

在香槟的紫荆已经基本开完， 但是密西根应该还在开吧。

1. 密西根州立大学校园的紫荆花。 摄于2007.4.29.  Nikon D80, 70-300mm @ at 300mm. 这个蜂也许是一个地蜂。。。tid.

2. 更近一点。 她的后腿上很多花粉， 有类似花粉籃的结构。

3. 在澳大利亚拍到的蜜蜂采紫荆。 记得植物园里面写了是北美的同一个种。 这就变成我唯一的一个西方蜜蜂采自紫荆的照片了！

4. 南昌的中华紫荆。

5. 花序好像都是半圆的， 跟北美的不同。

6. 来采蜜的都是中蜂 (Apis cerana).

7. 她花粉篮里有一点花粉， 但是也有采蜜的行为。 但是为啥她可以够到蜜？ 而西方蜜蜂够不到北美的紫荆？中蜂应该舌头更短才对。 是不是中华紫荆花小一些呢？ 谷歌上还是有不少蜜蜂采紫荆的照片的， 所以也许就是我运气不行吧。

8. 空中翱翔的中蜂。这种翅膀模糊的， 我叫它“风车”效果， 是难得的。 没有什么规律， 就靠碰运气拍到这个。
