A few days ago, a domestic netizen, sent me a photo of a Loquat flower through WeChat, which made Uncle bee realize that he had n’t written a public account for a long time.

Loquat flower is one of the few plants that bloom in winter (November to January). When I was a kid, I didn’t look at the flowers seriously, but the fruit of the loquat was known because I could eat it. The tadpoles are small and sour. Now when I return home, I occasionally eat some loquat, big and sweet!

This plant is also quite strange, why does it like to bloom in winter? If it is in Hunan province, only the Chinese bees will collect more in November / December, because it takes about 15/16 degrees for the West bees to be willing to collect, but there are not many days like December in Hunan. If it is around 10-13 degrees, it can only be pollinated by chinese bees.

Sure enough, the ancients also knew this, as evidenced by poetry:

枇杷花

董嗣杲【宋】

种接他枝宿土乾,花开抵得北风寒。

蛹须负雪疑蜂蛰,毛叶粘霜若蝟攒。

蕤破极冬悬蜡蒂,果收初夏摘金丸。

冻香便觉饴如蜜,树掩卢村月色宽。

The seed picks him up, the soil stays dry, and the flowers are cold to the north.

The tadpole must bear the snow bee sting, and the hairy leaf sticky frost is like a hedgehog.

蕤 Break the pole hanging wax pedicle in winter, pick the golden pills in early summer.

Frozen incense felt like honey, and the tree covered Lucun with wide moonlight.

(The pupa here refers to which part of the plant? Is it usually only found in insect? — Uncle bee)

Loquat contains amygdalin in leaves, fruits and kernels. This glycoside releases hydrocyanic acid when consumed, so it is toxic. Current varieties should have very little fruit, so there is no need to worry about poisoning if you eat too much. Loquat fruit is considered to cure cough, so loquat honey should have the same effect.

There are three groups of pictures about honeybee visit Loquat flower that can be found on the camera. There are many scales on the calyx, which is easier to identify.

1. The first time was photographed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA in 2006.1.8. It should be near the home of a Chinese professor. These bees are much like African bees.

8. The second time I photographed it near Yueyang Tower in Hunan, so it was chinese Bee. The time is 2008.11.16. Take a look, there are few good. It turned out to be short. A total of 3 minutes. The photos above took 17 minutes. So the quality is different.

11. I was looking for a photo just now, but accidentally found that there are still a second batch of photos of Chinese bee picking. I almost didn’t see it. It was taken in Qiandao Lake, Zhejiang Province. There are also many pictures of bees picking camellia! Share it in a few days. These photos were taken at 11.23 a few days later, so it should not be a technical issue, this time is more than adequate. Photos are much better. Three sets of photos were taken with the Nikon D70 (6 megapixels).

Thank you all.
