Peach blossom

桃花一片冬已去,满树蜂儿采春红

This should be Peach.

This was also taken in 2002, because the digital SLR was bought in 2004. This was taken by Nikon’s fool. (Coolpix 990, 3.2 megapixels). Cover for the September 2004 Journal of Experimental Biology.

Another time at the Beijing Botanical Garden, I just met the Peach Blossom Festival (2013.3.24), and there were many bees.

There are also almost white peach blossoms.

Thank you Dr. Xu Calligraphy for your company!

Classification of peaches:

Family: Rosaceae蔷薇科
Genus: Prunus李属
Subgenus: Amygdalus桃亚属
Species: P. persica桃

Do you see it? Large almond and peach are of a subgenus. The large almond kernel has the same ridges as the peach. Not as smooth as plums and apricots.

Peach blossom bees rely on an index of 60%, which means that if they are not pollinated, they can also produce 40% of their yield. Whereas large almonds and blueberries are 100%, apples and cherries are 90%. Michigan’s peach production value is only 6 million US dollars (2015 data), which is insignificant compared to 440 million apples and 130 million cherries. I haven’t seen the peach garden in Michigan, and I guess they will pollinate bees. But our university’s horticulture farm has some peach trees, and I’ve seen them bloom. It is estimated that it is time to bloom.

Inscriptions and other photos (except the 2-4 photos taken in Beijing Botanical Garden, 2002.3.26) Photographed in the Peach Garden of Jiangxi Agricultural University (2012.4.1, thanks to Professor Zeng Zhi, the director of the Bee Research Institute of Jiangxi Agricultural University for your company!) It is Pear Garden. The bees on the peach blossoms stay shorter than the pear blossoms, so the bees on the pear blossoms look pretty.
